Job Title

Production Assembler – Electric 

Location

Spring City, PA

Description

Summary: Assemble, test and repair components to product assemblies.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Read and follow written instructions and/or prints.
  • Position, align, fit and manually assemble component parts into completed units using hand and power tools.
  • Measure, cut, strip and tint wire to specifications.
  • Solder wire and connectors as required.
  • Install wire sheathing, heat shrinkable insulation and epoxy.
  • Test functional performance of completed assemblies using test equipment.
  • Stamp or etch serial numbers on metal components.
  • Clean parts and assemblies manually and/or by automated equipment.

 

Education / Training / Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Able to read and understand prints.
  • 1 years of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual acuity for detailed work.
  • Regularly required to stand for a 10 hours shift, bend, twist, use of hands and fingers to assemble components.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move completed units weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to use measurement tools to inspect parts.

Manufacturing Engineer

Description

Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer creates, or finds and evaluates, better and more efficient ways to manufacture our products, which involves techniques, processes, and procedures. Regardless of the function or process, the Manufacturing Engineer’s main goal is the same: continuous improvement of product quality through leaner concepts and activities.

Engineering services responsibilities are as follows: Directs channel development activity and coordinates PDME implementation and maintenance in coordination with design and drawing development.  Coordinates PDME process and activities with Applications Engineering (HYD) and Engineering Services Manager (THI).

Successful performance and results require a broad knowledge of equipment and tools and the ability to effect change through coaching and influence. The work of a Manufacturing Engineer is often hands-on, interacting with shop floor personnel, customer service, engineering and manufacturing groups to ensure the team meets department and company goals.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to Texas Hydraulics’ ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
  • Assist in driving safety improvements throughout the facility through use of accident investigations, root cause analysis, and engineering safety into the processes wherever possible
  • Provide day-to-day process support to manufacturing floor in area of responsibility. Assist as needed with prototype checks, production builds, equipment maintenance, and product or process troubleshooting
  • Evaluate prototype swivel designs for manufacturability, identifying any special tooling or fixturing required to produce the product
  • Evaluate current processes against customer specifications and advise on any gaps to the specification, solutions to the gaps, and timeline for the solutions
  • Evaluate current processes for safety, quality, and productivity improvements through the use of continuous improvement activities
  • Directs Engineering Services activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
    Maintain technical proficiencies with existing technologies and research new technologies
  • Review current and future production needs with management as they relate to process improvement and new technology implementation
  • Write equipment specifications, justifications, and Capital Expenditure requests. Participate in equipment runoffs, coordinate installations, and release equipment to manufacturing team
  • Communicate between internal and external customers in a professional and positive manner
  • Assist quality in completing root cause analysis and implementing corrective/preventive actions
  • Create, implement, and monitor key performance indicators and metrics
  • Implement data collection strategies to get product and process data. Analyze data to make informed decisions regarding product or process changes

 

Education / Training / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering from a four-year college or university is preferred
  • 2+ years related M.E. experience

 

Skills:

  • MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Vizio
  • Computer Aided Design – AutoCAD or Creo (ProEngineer) preferred
  • Ability to make sound business decisions based on limited information
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of basic Lean tools (5S, VSM, process flow, spaghetti diagrams)
  • Understanding of Problem Solving tools (8D, fishbone, 5-whys)
  • Excel in both technical and practical problem solving techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints; GD&T a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret machine manuals, instructions, procedures, and safety rules
  • Ability to operate as an individual contributor as well as a teammate
  • Prioritize day-to-day tasks and long-term department goals

Machinist – CNC Lathe Operator (2nd Shift)

Summary: Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

*Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.

*Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.

*Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

*Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.

*Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.

*Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.

*Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

Education / Training / Experience:

* Minimum High School/GED or Technical school or one to two years related experience.

*Ability to follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
